Our Story

Our story began long before the company was founded. Doug Stephens served as a military Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician beginning in 1971, moving up the ranks to Chief Warrant Officer Four(CW4) where he managed the Army's BMET career field. He understood firsthand the discipline, technical expertise, and commitment required in Healthcare Technology.

In 1988, with the assistance of his wife, Cindy, he founded Stephens International Recruiting, Inc. with a clear mission to help HTM professionals advance their careers and to help healthcare organizations secure dependable technical talent. Cindy joined Doug full-time in 1996, and what began as a focused effort to support the HTM service technicians, SIRI has grown into a well-known, nationwide recruiting firm. As the business owner, Cindy continues to manage the financial and operational aspects of the business and provides consultation and proficient recruitment services to clients and candidates.

Today, operations are led by Tim Hopkins, who joined the firm in 2001 and continues to build on the foundation Doug and Cindy established. Over the years, thousands of professionals have taken their next step in the industry through SIRl's representation. Hospitals, healthcare systems, and service organizations across the country have relied on our expertise and teamwork to strengthen their HTM teams.

While Doug has retired, the core principles remain unchanged: direct communication, ethical standards, andlong-term relationships within the Healthcare Technology community.
