Our Story
Our story began long before the company was founded. Doug Stephens served as a military Biomedical Equipment Technician beginning in 1976. He understood firsthand the discipline, technical expertise, and commitment required in Healthcare Technology. In 1989, he founded Stephens International Recruiting, Inc. with a clear mission: to help HTM professionals advance their careers and to help healthcare organizations secure dependable technical talent.
What began as a focused effort to support technicians has grown into a nationwide recruiting firm. Over the years, thousands of professionals have taken their next step in the industry through SIRI’s representation. Hospitals, healthcare systems, and service organizations across the country have relied on our network to strengthen their teams.
Today, operations are led by Tim Hopkins, who joined the firm in 2019 and continues to build on the foundation Doug established. While Doug has retired, the core principles remain unchanged: direct communication, ethical standards, and long-term relationships within the Healthcare Technology community.
